Since I'm doing english I thought I should try to talk about books.....not realy very good that my mind just went blank!
At the moment I'm reading Affinity by Saraj water, I need to be half way through by tomorrow, but eer, am quater way through, (we have to read a swet books every two weeks) so eep! does anyone else know about this book or author? Her style seems quite gripping, being in diary form ect. It also shows that we cannot take things for granted.
other authors I'm keen on are: Susan Hill, Charlotte Bronte, David Almosn, Anthony Horowitz (grew up with his alex rider books, infact the new one is out ina few weeks! yay!) Sophie Kinsella and errmmm Micheal Morpergo (I'm stil a big kid really)
what authors does everyone else like? any favorite books?

I've never read that book. Is it good? I might have to check it out of my local library if it is.
My favourite authors are Jodi Picoult, Torey Hayden, Kate Atkinson, Robert Muchamore, Sarah Dessen, there's more I just can't think of them at the moment. I read a lot.
Some of my favourite books (in no particular order) are "America" by E.R Frank, " Ready to catch him should he fall" by Neil Bartlett, "What's eating Gilbert Grape?" by Peter Hedges, " Heartbreak and Triumph" by Shawn Michaels, " A Lion's tale; Around the world in spandex" by Chris Jericho, " One good turn" by Kate Atkinson and many more lol!

I keep on seeing Kate Atkinson popping up on shelves. What style does she do? I mifght check hr out at the uni library on one of my random wonderings.
Affinity ids actually prooving to be wuite good, I would advice it. It has jail and spirit mediums ect and is well written. Plus its nopt boring! (which is always a plus side)

Kate Atkinson does crime thrillers. It's very like The Bill (In fact she mentions The Bill a few times in " One good turn"lol!)There's a man called Jackson in a trilogy of her books ( "Case Studies", "One good turn" and "When Will There Be Good News?") who used to be a police man and he's been in the army and the like before becoming a private investigator and retiring. There's also a great character called Louise who rises through the ranks from DI to DCI during the sequels and she has a lovely DC companion in " When Will There Be Good News?" who totally reminds me of Mickey. There's lots of twists and clever turns and she's very descriptive, I really enjoyed her books with "one good turn" and "When Will There Be Good News?" being my favourites.

Lol! Well I've only really read those three but they're very good, I would strongly recommend them. "Case Studies" is about Jackson being a Private Investigator and the cases he stumbles across, "One good turn" is set after Jackson's retired and he witnessess a crime in France, he also finds a body and ends up becoming a suspect in a murder enquiry (enter DI Louise - there's a fair bit of lusting too ) and "When will there be good news?" focuses a bit more on Louise who's been promoted to DCI by then and she's trying to help a witness and meets up with Jackson again when he turns up in hospital. Her young DC companion (I think he's called Malcom....) is in this one.

they sound wuite good. I havn't really tried crime fiction, but I have been intending too. I like Susan Hill and she writes crime too, so I bought one of hers to give a go. These sound like nice ones to get me into it too! Do you like Susan Hill? She does The Woman in Black/ I went to see that play and screamed all the waythrough (both times!) then again I am easily terrified, oh and its hallowean tomorrow.........

I like the quite little pretty ones that don't scare my cat (or me!) Thunderstors are worse though because you don't know when theyll come! OK, so maybe I'm a tad bit biased (moment rumble is heard I'm ducking under the cover!)
Is Crime fiction one of your favorite genres? What is it about that genre that you like may I ask?

Thunderstorms don't scare me they just give me a headache.
I don't think Crime fiction is my fave, I used to really like true stories and teenage fiction. I dunno what draws me to crime, I think I'm just interested in the workings of the police lol!

Me Too! Ever since I got into life on mars I've been obsessed with Police drama's ect (hence I love the bill!) I don';t know why its teen me this long to try crime fiction I also like teenage fiction, but I'm getting less into it now. I tend to like fiction which focus' on people my age, or slightly older, which is a shame now cause I still like teenage fiction but, I don't like the charaxcters as much....does that make sense. The new Alex Rider book is out soon (yay!) but he's 14 in it, I got into the series when I was 13.

It depends on the teen fiction as to whether or not I like it. I have a weird obsession with angst (hell would explain why I gravitate to Mickey lol!) I've never read the Alex Rider stuff, from what I've seen I prefer the Cherub series though by Robert Muchamore.
