TV cop turned property developer Chris Simmons, who plays DC Mickey Webb in ITV1's The Bill, is struggling to sell the property he built from scratch in Kent. His three-storey, six-bedroom house in the village of Cliffe is languishing on the market for £599,000 after a two-year build. 'If I'd had a crystal ball I probably wouldn't have started the project,' says the 33-year-old. 'But I'm not crying over it. I've always been a risk-taker and I've just learned that you can't make a quick buck. I'm open to offers and rentals and I'm confident that in the long term I'll make my money back.'

Built from scratch? Do they mean that he actually built the house or had to completely re-do the interior and some strcture etc like on homes under tha hammer? As much as I disagree with the property developing business I have to admit it is a good one when it's successful, and heck if its done in the right way it doesn't damage the houseing market so, good luck to Chris. It may be his full time job now?

I assume they mean he designed/ planned it and had it built. I don't know if he'll have built it himself, more likely he'll have employed people and will have had the final say so over everything. I did say on twitter if he was looking for a housemate I'd oblige Sadly £599,000 is just a little out of my price range there Chris! Though having him as a landlord would totally rock from a fangirl standpoint ( " Oh Mr Simmons, so sorry to bother you but I think my boiler is broken, would you come 'round and fix it perhaps offer other methods of warmth... please?") I imagine since he auditioned for the six part drama and seems to be struggling to sell that house that he still looks to acting as his job. I'd rather he acted and appeared on television anyway because I'm selfish .
