What it says on the tin. Have you ever been listening to a song and thought " This is so Mickey..."? Or is this the extent of my fangirlism coming into play? I usually get these bouts of clarity with songs in regards to fanfiction or video editing centring on Mr Webb. For example: Ever since I heard this song it makes me think of how Mickey must have felt about Kate Spears for the majority of their on/off relationship. Let's be honest he was much more keen than she was and well the song just makes me think of Mickey/Kate. In my head - Jason DeruloDissertation be damned. I so want to make a video to that

^ Aww I love that song! I never noticed the Mickey connotations before...now I bet they're stuck with me LOL!
Speaking of Mickey's upbringing, this song was used as the inspiration for one of my many incomplete Mickey ficlets as it made me think of his relationship with his estranged dad (before they did the whole attempted reconciliation on "On the streets"):
Neverland - Darren Hayes[/u]
No more closing fists. No more face to hit. No more bloody nose or apologetic roses...... Should I make a hammer? Should I try to smash his face?

There has to be a fic in there!

There will be I just have to work it out. I'd love to write something based on Mickey's childhood and that song, especially since it's about domestic violence which I sadly know more about than I would have liked. I swear Mickey was created to be the writers' emotional punch-bag

and do you think we love him so much because we identify with him or his experiences? I know I see myself in him in many ways. I've thought of another one. Well it's not a whole song, but a lyric The song is Shorley Wall by Ooberman It's actually about a girl but there is one part Because the best shield is to accept the pain Then what can really destroy me?that I think is very Mickey. And now I'm thinking I haven't songficced that song in ages and I need to write something

I identify loads with his childhood, particularly his rant about Christmas in "The Night Before", I dunno if I see much of myself in him though. He seems more ambitious and cheeky than me Ooh those lyrics are awesome. Write! Go! Create your awesomeness ;D

Mickey Jack, post Delaney
Maybe - Darren Hayes "Maybe"
Maybe you're gone You had to get outta here It's easy to get lost in fear But maybe now the weight has lifted You're sailing through the air
Making your way A travelling acrobat You're putting on your bowler hat Speeding through the atmosphere Past planes and meteorites
Maybe you're gone Maybe you're lost somewhere Floating in outer space A radio wave tuning into some Secret place I've never been Leaving your heart beating in fragile hands And nobody understands Maybe you're gone Maybe you are finally coming home
Maybe the end was the beginning The game is no fun when you're winning The pool is empty unless you're swimming And trying to keep afloat
Maybe you stayed just a little while The party was over but you realised That memory makes you immortalised You end when you're beginning
Maybe you're gone Maybe you're lost somewhere Floating in outer space A radio wave tuning into some Secret place I've never been Leaving your heart beating in fragile hands And nobody understands Maybe you're gone Maybe you are finally coming home
All the lights shine above you They become a part of you All the earth seems so tiny in your hands
All the stars move inside you All the pain that's behind you All the secrets will blind you Understand?
Maybe you had to get out of here Maybe you lost your way down here Maybe you've found a shinier star A shinier star Leaving your heart beating in fragile hands And nobody understands Maybe you're gone Maybe you are finally coming home

Some of the lyrics in here remind me of Mickey (dunno why it's all the angsty songs!!)
Kristy are you doing okay? - The Offspring
It never goes away.... Can you stay strong? Can you go on?...are you doing ok?... Winter's kept you, don't waste your whole life trying to get back what was taken away.

This makes me think of Mickey/Kate or Mickey/Carrie - depending on how my mood is that day Everything you want - Vertical Horizon I am everything you want, I am everything you need, I am everything inside of you that you wish you could be. I say all the right things at exactly the right time, but I mean nothing to you and I don't know why.

This song makes me think Mickey and any girl he's with (particularly after the whole Delaney ordeal) I'm not sure why. I think it's the vulnerability in parts.

^ I always liked that Will Young song.
'Bad Romance' always makes me think of Mickey and Kate especially the 'I don't wanna be friends' part. ;D
'Bridge Over Troubled Water' is a good Jack and Mickey song.
