RE: why Mickey was so angry :

Someone had been brought in for questioning over Conway's death (which having seen it happen, Mickey was rather shaken by) and had mentioned to Mickey that the white supremacist who was targeting coppers had "taken a kicking from two black cops".

DS Vik Singh had beaten Jeff Simpson (the white supremacist) in a pub after he'd made racist comments and spat in his drink. DC Danny Glaze had seen this happen and helped cover it up.

Mickey realised who it was and went to Kate, begging her to help saying "You're the only one I trust" and Kate finding this rather sweet offered to help.

They collared Danny (who denied anything) and then they went and got Vik before Danny could tell him Mickey and Kate were onto them. They were interviewing him in this room where they were storing flowers for Conway. Vik basically told Mickey he would never understand which incensed Mickey and he snapped " 'cause I'm white?!" and went off on a rant about what the racist could have said (something about raping sisters and burning down houses) he was really getting to Vik.

(It should be noted in the episode where Vik beat up the racist, Mickey had angered him to start with. They were working on a case with a hitman and the driver was Pakistani. Mickey, in his ignorance, had told Jack that Vik would be perfect to take the driver's place undercover as he was Pakistani which resulted in Vik sharply informing Mickey that he was Asian NOT Pakistani, Mickey had replied with "Yeah, Whatever" in an uninterested manner drawing Vik's allegation of " We all look the same to you Mickey?" He tried to apologise later citing "It wasn't how it sounded" but Vik brushed him off and went to the pub in a foul mood.)

Mickey was mainly infuriated that Conway had died as a result of Vik who wouldn't admit to playing any part in it. In the end Mickey and Kate went to Jack, Vik was suspended after assaulting Jeff during interview and being interrupted by Jack, Mickey and Danny but chose to leave instead and Jack shouted at him in front of Mickey and Danny (hence Mickey's uneasy expression in the other picture).

that episode sounds awsome, although does it present mickey as kind of a racist?
what was it called? I think I've seen the one where conway dies. Mickey was really loyal in that episode. I don't think he has such a problem with authority just has strong opinions about how it's delt with.
Is it just before thee huge explosion?

The thing with Mickey in the "early days" (and to some extent now) is he seems to be very opinionated and will voice whatever he thinks without engaging brain. Nowadays I would say he thinks before speaking (unless he's really mad or shoving Max )

The episode with Mickey's inadvertent comment about Vik being Pakistani is Episode 002

The episode where Mickey and Kate uncover Vik's part in it all is Episode 006

I love Mickey irritating Chandler, particularly there when he not only has a go at Chandler but Kate too. Rare for Mickey that one is "You're disgusting the pair of 'ya!" See Episode 007 (7:12)

"Feet of clay part 3"

Yep assault happened in an abandoned warehouse and during the investigation in "Feet of clay part 3" Mickey and Kezia got sent to check out another abandoned warehouse down by the river. Mickey turned the lights on pretty quickly and told Kezia they best leave it to forensics. He seemed more comfortable when Eddie and them were there.
